Common Ground is a Bluegrass Band based out of Moneta, Virginia. Their musical selections range from traditional bluegrass songs, to more modern and progressive tunes. The band has been formed for over 40 years winning many titles and prizes for its outstanding music.

 

Although the band has been around 40 years, members have been changed, but one thing has not. Ricky Ellis, a 5 time WORLD CHAMPION Mandolin player, has led the band since the begining. 

 

Common Ground has played many venues and events including the Harvester Performance Center in Rocky Mount, Virginia. Also, they are not new to the Competition Scene. Common Ground has won HUNDREDS of awards from Band Competitions and Individual Competitions all over the United States.

 

Common Ground is not limited to the United States, though. They have played to sold out crowds all of Canada including the island of Vancouver.
